Raise your hand if nothing sounds better than a nice cup of coffee (or tea!) and a book. I love curling up with a good book and getting lost in its world. Completely detaching from life and just immersing myself in something else for a while. And not just fiction and non fiction. I love learning about different cultures, about different ways of life, about different hobbies people have.
I am a self proclaimed nerd and have been ever since I was a kid. You see, I loved school. Now don’t get me wrong. I hated the tests, papers, group work, and *gulp* class presentations but I loved learning. Now I’m out of school with a real life job but I still miss it.
I made a new year’s resolution to myself to start learning again, whether it is real world advice like how to budget or fun topics like photography, knitting tiny hats for kittens, or how to make the perfect cup of coffee.
I also love health and fitness! I get such a high from working out. I’ve been working out consistently for about 2 years now and along the way I’ve gotten into weightlifting, yoga, meditation (ok, technically not a physical workout but I’m counting it as a mental workout), and flexibility. I can now do the splits and the middle splits which I always thought was just a thing ballet dancers could do.
I’m no fitness expert and I’m still far from where I want to be. I still have weight to lose. I still can’t do a handstand to save my life. But I’m enjoying the journey. I’ve learned a few things along the way and I think it would be fun to document them and also the challenges I face as I go.
I’m not sure where this blog will lead me but hopefully you will join me on this journey.
Let’s do this!
